Jig along says:

The fires that we had a month or so ago, makes the willy willy a lot more fearsom than they really are.

When its 42 degrees, I suppose its a case of, I'll walk away from it, but I'm not going to run from it.

Mandy. says:

more fearsome because there's ashes in it?

Jig along says:

That's right Mandy.

Normally the willy willys are the same colour as the dust, which up here is redish/white, and not that easy to pick up. When they go across burnt country, you can see them 20km away or more.

Mandy. says:

They're dust devils here. And I always feel like there's something special about them. I know the mechanics behind the formation, but it doesn't subtract from the wonder.

Maybe because they're like little baby tornadoes.
