When I was at school in New Zealand, all children learnt to use poi. All the boys learnt the haka too (no girls allowed - they did advanced poi).

I went through a poi phase recently but got a little tired of injuring myself from badly timed swings. serves me right for using poi with big metal spikes on the ends... (just kidding)

yes, that's right. I was a little surprised that they had gone international. They sound terrific when there is a whole troop using them.
