A strange beast in flight with children sitting on board. Or dripping buttered toast. Or fireworks.

He's a very private man

a giant among illustrators.
Captain Najork and his Hired Sportsmen!

I envy your UK Campaign for Drawing that he supports.

arkangel says:

Can't claim that campaign - I think you mean the Big Draw? - no relation to the Big Art Project (yet)

23rd Nov 2007, 11:53

swamprose says:

Yes! the big draw.
It's part of the Campaign for Drawing. Wish we had it here.

Where's here?

23rd Nov 2007, 12:41

swamprose says:

oh sorry, I live in Toronto, Canada.

arkangel says:

That's a suburb of Bramalea isn't it? (at least that's what my pal from over there tells me)

23rd Nov 2007, 14:03

swamprose says:

your pal is right. bramalea, power centre of the universe, a place where you have to go at least once in your life to get really really lost.

I was in T'rona earlier in the summer and put it on the Big Art Map with meisterwerks like this - we'd love some more from your side of the water if you have a chance...

23rd Nov 2007, 14:49

swamprose says:

I would LOVE to do that, but Houston, we have a problem.
No one in Canada uses mobile phones to send data-- photos, files or text. Our communications companies do not understand this kind of cell phone use, and as a result it is ridiculously expensive. That is why north american bloggers mostly use a camera and email. We are in the dark ages here. Alfie just met with Canadian communications people and understands what I am on about. If I can upload camera shots then I'd be delighted to put Toronto on the Big Art Map.

and next time you come, let me know. I do a good bloggers tour.

23rd Nov 2007, 18:32

arkangel says:

Thanks, swamprose, for the kind offer - I'm not there often (best part of a decade between visits!) but who knows? I was on my way to Banff for a speaking gig.

On the subject of Big Art, you can upload using the web form or by email - doesn't have to be done from location.
